Lisa McIlroy is a freelance artist and the Artistic Director for Cabin Boys Brewery in Tulsa, OK. She received her Bachelor in Fine Arts from Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, OK in 2011. Lisa has worked, lived, and shown art in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK, Chicago, IL, Mito, Japan, and Munich, Germany.

Lisa’s work is pluralistic in that she works with figurative subjects as well as abstracts using different combinations of materials and mediums. Her process begins in the sketchbook. Drawing inspiration from her travels, she documents her life and illustrates the world she sees around her. Sometimes the work in her sketchbook is meditative. The act of drawing or painting can be a mental oasis away from the monotonous regime of daily life. Abstract forms and doodles creep into the corners of the pages, relieving the artist from creative barriers. From the pages of her sketchbook she explores different avenues of art, such as painting, printmaking, and 3D paper art. One body of work helps to inspire future creations and past bodies of work dialog with the current.
